This week the Government announced the establishment of an independent review panel to support the raising of the age of criminal responsibility. We are pleased to share that Andrew Jackomos, who was appointed to the VLA Board earlier this year, will be one of the panel members.

I agree. Evidence is clear that bringing children into the criminal justice system only serves to entrench offending; why enact reforms to bring more children into custody on remand when the real answer is intensive, wrap around services to support rehabilitation?
