Let me distill this to the basics . We have real safety in sight . Not years but months away . I am viscerally angry at those that cannot endure a full pause for next month . They simply don't care about the lives and disabilities. Totally unnecessary.

🇨🇦 is pushing inequality to the extreme by not taxing a primary residence & inflating home values. Those who don't own a home, have to "catch up" with their only investments taxed at a higher rate. Tax the gains on homes, or drop the tax on investments.

FYI basic income while inflating home prices is the perfect combination... for Boomers. They'll have sweet $2 million dollar homes, basic income cheques, *and* won't need to pay property taxes. In exchange, middle and upper class millennials get to carry the tax base.

This is a human tragedy first and foremost. But the utter bungling of this entirely predictable (and predicted) health crisis by Ontario’s government and CMOH is, to my mind, an outrage.

Real estate is zero sum. When the government inflates prices by 40%, they increase homeowner wealth by 40%. Young adults lose wealth, because that's the cost they now pay. When they say they won't let prices drop 10%, they are telling young adults to go fuck themselves.
