Unravelling what goes wrong in #MND is key to creating a world free of MND. PataniLab are investigating whether DNA damage plays a role in MND development and progression. MND Association is proud to fund research which could pave the way to explore new potential therapies. More ⬇

In this context we demonstrated how formation of intermolecular G4s can trigger aggregation of RNA expansion repeats that are typical of ALS/FTD, further highlighting the biological impact that the formation of these structures can have in regulating cell homeostasis.

Finally, and most importantly, this work is the result of a multi-collaborative effort and it could have not been possible without the amazing DiMicheleLAB, PataniLab, Francesco A. Aprile and Yuval Elani. Thank you all for your support!
