Thrilled and incredibly grateful to have recently started a 3 year MND biomedical research project grant from the MND Association I was awarded with Rickie Patani to continue investigating the mechanisms of glial dysfunction in MND. 🧪🧠🧑‍🔬PataniLab MND Research

In this context we demonstrated how formation of intermolecular G4s can trigger aggregation of RNA expansion repeats that are typical of ALS/FTD, further highlighting the biological impact that the formation of these structures can have in regulating cell homeostasis.

Finally, and most importantly, this work is the result of a multi-collaborative effort and it could have not been possible without the amazing DiMicheleLAB, PataniLab, Francesco A. Aprile and Yuval Elani. Thank you all for your support!
