Paul Givan has been accused of 'grinning like a panto villain' and 'smiling like a Cheshire cat' throughout this Assembly session, by the SDLP's Matthew O'Toole and Cara Hunter respectively. Keep updated with Stormont live blog 👇 Belfast Telegraph belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/politics/…

A majority backed the no-confidence motion in Paul Givan He has disgraced his office but as predicted the DUP used their veto to block censure. But I'm pleased that the Assembly then backed an SDLP Opposition motion to make it easier to sanction rulebreaking ministers.

I secured this review four years ago and am dismayed by the response. Change would have needed protection for existing licensees but the Minister has basically ruled out any change. So more pubs will shut, more drinking will happen at home and vested interests will be served.

"What would you check first: their pulse, or their passport?" Seán Binder's trial started today in Lesvos, Greece. If convicted, he risks 20 years in prison for helping people at risk of drowning at sea. These baseless charges must be dropped. #HumanityMustWin

"Trains will be given a union flag inspired paint job as part of the govts nationalisation plan" Meanwhile the trains themselves are still owned by private rolling stock leasing companies which extract huge amounts of £ from the industry (& shovel it into offshore tax havens)
