Today was an exciting and long-awaited moment for the Queens Botanical Garden Garden, as we broke ground on a new Education Building that has been a long time coming. I am proud to have secured over $3.4 million for this project because I know how vital QBG is to the entire borough.

This $34 million project will enhance the ability of QBG to serve our diverse community in ways that are meaningful and lasting, and I can’t wait to be back at the Garden soon for a ribbon-cutting ceremony!

Honored and overjoyed today to break ground on Queens Botanical Garden's new Education Center! Supported by $34M in city funding and being built by our friends at NYC DDC, this new, state-of-the-art building will give the garden a fully accessible home for its extraordinary programming.

DDC took part in a walk-through of pedestrian ramp project work in Forest Hills, Queens with representatives from Community Board 6. The project, which covers select locations in Brooklyn and Queens, upgrades pedestrian ramps to comply with federal ADA standards.
