The Field Medical Assistants Course (FMAC) takes place this week at the RSCE. 26 Kenyan and Ugandan military officers will be trained in Advanced first-aid techniques to respond to life-threatening situations. State House Uganda Government of Kenya

The aim is to increase survivability in #missions by capacitating them to perform life-saving interventions until trained care providers arrive. They will soon be deployed in ATMIS.

The Field Medical Assistants Course (FMAC) was developed to improve UN mission #survivability in missions. Promoted by UN Triangular Partnership Programme, it aims to enhance peacekeepers' skills in #emergencymedical response in life-threatening situations.

Nearly 500 UN personnel, including #UNpeacekeepers, have died in deliberate attacks while serving under the UN flag in the past 12 years. This death toll could have been reduced if personnel had provided prompt first aid to injured people. press.un.org/en/2023/org173…

On 20 Feb, #UNTPP concluded the first #FMAC of 2024 at UN Regional Service Centre Entebbe (RSCE). This FMAC was conducted for the first time in French. As MINUSCA & MONUSCO are in Francophone settings where field medical responses are required, UNTPP offers this course in French to strengthen UN Peacekeeping🕊

The closing of the United Nations Triangular Partnership Project (UNTPP) Explosive Hazard Awareness Training (EHAT) and Heavy Engineering Equipment (HEE) Course officiated by Chief Guest Mr. Hiroshi OGIHARA, Deputy Head of Mission and Counsellor at the Embassy of Japan.

It featured an impressive demonstration where trainees identified and marked an IED, then showcased road construction using heavy equipment. The course had 30 participants from 🇰🇪, 🇬🇭, 🇺🇬, and🇿🇲, facilitated by instructors from 🇯🇵.
