I agree with @whichuk - if Rt Hon Nadine Dorries wants to #StopOnlineScams tech giants must be made responsible for preventing scam ads from appearing on their sites. To protect us all online scam ads must be part of the Online Safety Bill.

Scam ads cost UK victims billions each year. But Tech Giants have continually failed to #StopOnlineScams. The Govt has a huge opportunity to step in. Along with Which? we urge @nadinedories to protect all UK consumers online by including paid-for ads in the Online Safety Bill

Online scams can be devastating for people with mental health problems - who are 3x more likely to have fallen victim. We've joined with Which? & others to call on the government to act. Watch this video where our Chair Martin Lewis explains why tackling scam ads is so vital👇

So grateful for the support from many organisations and thousands of campaign supporters for our campaign to get paid for ads in the #onlinesafetybill there’s still plenty of time to add your voice to help #stopOnlineScams

Fantastic to see the Government listen and deliver on so many voices to #stoponlinescams by cracking down on fake and fraudulent ads online!!

Which? Thanks for your work on this. We've heard the calls and these changes to the upcoming Online Safety bill will help stop fraudsters conning people out of their hard-earned cash using fake online adverts.

We’ve listened to the calls to put scam ads in the Online Safety Bill. These changes will force tech giants to stop online scams and stop fraudsters conning people out of their hard-earned cash.

Authorised push payment fraud (APP) unfairly costs consumers millions of pounds every year. This is how we’ve been urging the regulator, banks and government to protect people from losing money to scammers since 2016, starting with our super-complaint.

Our latest analysis reveals that fraud victims are losing more to bank transfer scams every hour than the average UK worker earns a year! which.co.uk/news/2022/03/b…

The Government must ground plans to reform passenger compensation for flight disruption. The proposed changes could slash average payouts by £163 per passenger and weaken a vital deterrent against delays and cancellations.

Under new proposals, passengers will only be entitled to 100% of their ticket price meaning any harm caused from disruption will go uncompensated. Here’s why this would make it cheaper for airlines to disrupt UK flights whi.ch/FlightCompensa…
