In the paediatric section of our local pharmacy this has become a new norm. I heard that shortages were being predicted as far back as the summer. I’m past concerned. #ontpoli

NEW: The behind-the-scenes internal pressure that led to CUPE taking the deal. A deal which the union leader doesn't like and that government sources says is the same as last week. globalnews.ca/news/9292987/o… #onpoli #onted

If you’re concerned about the crush of kids getting sick with COVID/flu/RSV, there’s an intermediate strategy between doing nothing and schools going virtual. It’s a 4-letter word.

Agreed! Pure 💎right there. In the right space and context, I’m big on vulnerability as well. The “fear of” element causes too many people to give up easily and can be harmful to staff, students and their families.

Afternoon, #OntEd! So we need to start talking impact of #GPT3 on pedagogy, on curriculum, and definitely on assessment. Truthfully? We needed to be talking about this last year but things have been kind of "dumpster firey", so let's not be too harsh on ourselves.

Loblaw posted its biggest gross profit margin yet — 31.4 per cent — in the second quarter this year. The company has now increased its quarterly gross profit over the previous year for 28 straight quarters — that’s seven full years. thestar.com/news/canada/20…

If you're a high school math teacher starting classes this week, take the time to build that classroom community of math thinkers & learners. In classes of 30+ students, it's not feasible for you to be the sole source of knowledge. The community will provide, if you nurture it.

My classes continues their work on Black History through March and maybe beyond. What began in February, should extend well beyond four weeks and could even begin prior to that. Although we honour BHM, the learning is year long and life long. #BlackGirlMagic

I’m sure this is already out there, but if done well, math instruction can foster the creativity and individuality of an art class, no matter the grade you teach. Right now, it’s about visualizing concepts in square roots and Pythagorean theorem. Huge thx to Jo Boaler

edsource.org/2023/lets-move… I have known Jo Boaler for several years, professionally and personally. I have gone to many of her workshops/keynotes over the last five years. All I have seen is the highest quality of mathematics accessible to all.

This is actually a good question. When I first heard this, I felt the same way, until I learned what the "classical education model" actually means. A thread.
