Prof Cade presenting data from a single centre audit in 1979. RMH had 57 patients with severe and persistent ARDS during the calendar year and in those with only single organ failure (i.e. respiratory) mortality was only 8%! Would be happy with that figure in 2018.

Massive shout out to Jeff Presneill. An incredibly hard working clinician researcher who diligently & quietly goes about his work and shuns the limelight but has co-authored a paper in NEJM & @JAMA this week #TARGET #POLAR. A win for those that we aspire to be more like 😊

Great presentation by Marc Moss describing amazing work of #PETALnetwork culminating in #ROSEtrial enrolling > 1 patient/day with moderate-severe ARDS👏👏👏#ATS2019

I must admit I thought everyone used BMV - I always like to know if I can oxygenate the patient before finding out I can’t intubate the trachea.

I have just reviewed letters and CVs from 146 applicants for a 12-month Research Assistant job to cover maternity leave. Surely there is something wrong with our society for so many exceptionally talented young graduates to be applying for 1 fixed term spot

This may be of interest to an experienced RC who is looking for a new challenge having collaborated with leading networks such as ⁦ANZICS Clinical Trials Group⁩, ⁦ANZCA Clinical Trials Network⁩. jobs.unimelb.edu.au/en/job/905782/…
