On 8 June 2020, during the ‘online’ Debate in Heritage, Leiden students debated about the statement: The story of the Mayflower does not belong in Dutch history education. Using information from Museum De Lakenhal 👋 Volkenkunde 👋🏾👋🏻👋🏽👋🏿👋🏼 and Erfgoed Leiden e.o. the students formulate strong arguments!
The reconstruction of the Mayflower by Dik Kompier is now displayed at the VVV in Leiden! The reconstruction was planned to be a part of the exhibition “Pilgrims to America – and the limits of freedom” of Museum De Lakenhal, unfortunately due to the coronavirus this was not possible.
