If you are in a school in England you can access the 'Reading Ambition for All' training delivered by your local English Hub. I was delighted to be involved in developing this with Wandle English Hub and I'm so pleased that it covers teaching children with a complex profile of needs.

📚Reading aloud non-fiction matters. Really interesting study from Clarence Green, Ph.D and Kathleen Keogh which found that reading aloud informational and narrative picture books provides exposure to more lexical diversity, density and complex morphology, than narratives alone.

It was brilliant to meet Catherine McKinnell MP, Minister for School Standards, and Marsha de Cordova to share the work we do at Wandle English Hub and Chesterton Primary to support Reading for Pleasure and early reading in schools in our region.

The best book post! 📚 I can’t wait to read this important book from Darren Chetty and Karen Sands-O'Connor “If you truly believe in the power of children’s literature & the right of every child to feel equal & valued in society, please read every single word” - Patrice Lawrence

Brilliant to hear Frank Cottrell-Boyce profiling the benefits of reading aloud and shared reading as he guest edits BBC Radio 4’s today show 📚

It was wonderful to work with Teresa Cremin yesterday to lead the Reading for Pleasure 🧶 Schools Programme conference day at Chesterton Primary The day was focussed on building a rich reading culture and we specifically explored Social Reading Environments and Informal Book Talk.
