I was booked on United Flight 93 on 9/11, 2001, flying nonstop from Newark NJ to San Francisco CA. Around midnight the night before, a coworker called me urging me to change my flight to fly into San Jose instead. This meant I had move to a flight that boarded 20 minutes later

The balance of power on the Chico City Council hangs on the outcome of the District 3 race. After today, incumbent Dale Bennett leads challenger Monica McDaniel by (drumroll please) 7 votes, 3,009-3,002.

Purdy also passed for 377 yards and three touchdowns, and ran in for a fourth. Moody missed an extra point and two (more) field goals — and then barfed the onside kick. Yeah. I’d say one guy did his job better than the other. “Unreal” how some people are so obsessed with Purdy …

First Sly Stone, now Brian Wilson. Two of those very rare talents for whom the terms “visionary” and “musical genius” were 100% warranted. The Rock and Roll Heaven Band has never gotten this much better in a two-day period, ever.

We should all feel a deep sense of grief and outrage at the terrible violence that took place in Utah today. Charlie Kirk's murder is sick and reprehensible, and our thoughts are with his family, children, and loved ones. I knew Charlie, and I admired his passion and commitment

Proposition 50 is winning by about a 2-to-1 margin statewide, but is being rejected so far by most north state counties. In Butte County, the “no” votes lead 27,636-23,817. In Colusa, the “no” vote leads by a 2-to-1 margin. In Glenn, it’s almost 3-to-1.
