Thanks very much Jane and yes very important to keep patients active and enable independence in hospitals. It prevents Deconditioning and enables timely discharge. After all home is best ( for most). Here are some useful material for those who need to introduce in their areas.

And yet... Do we see bed managers, discharge coordinators & porters as part of the Patient Safety Team? Do we see getting TTOs done or a social care referral sent as patient safety interventions? What could we learn about Ops Improvement from Safety methodology? Shaun Lintern

We use process mapping and value stream mapping in all our improvement work. Patient stories and timelines are usually mapped. They are very powerful in changing culture. Learned this tool from Flow Coaching Academy

Today I had the privilege to watch Emergency Department Simulation in action with experienced ED clinicians including Malcolm McKenzie The game based simulation was invented by BSUH NHS ED cons Salwa Malik💙 to help MDTs learn the complexities of managing a busy ED shop floor. It’s brilliant 👏🏻
