How can computational models help us to improve treatments for mental disorder? In our latest preprint (psyarxiv.com/tyn9z) jonas haslbeck (jmbh.bsky.social), Don Robinaugh and I explore how these models can be used to simulate in-vivo trials of new and existing treatments 1/n

While it’s *deeply* unfashionable to be publishing in eLife - the journal right now - do humour us for advertising a study that was several years in the making (submitted way back when it was still possible for reviewers to reject us!). We’re rather proud of it.🧵👇🧵doi.org/10.7554/eLife.…

📣Excited to share my first first-author paper in Trends in Cognitive Sciences!📣 We ask - what does the brain find rewarding and why? Quentin Huys Michael Browning and I provide a novel computational account of pleasure processes and pathways to anhedonia.🧵👇 sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

The Encyclopedia of Domains identifies over 320M structural domains in the AlphaFold Database, including many not in CATH and other PDB-based databases. @nicolabordin @iansillitoe Jude Wells Shaun M Kandathil PSIPRED

Our paper now published: Chainsaw predicts domains in protein structures. We combine this with homology detection to infer functional annotations for previously uncharacterised proteins in AlphaFold DB, we also... @nicolabordin @CATH_Gene3D @iansillitoe academic.oup.com/bioinformatics…

Just submitted some designed proteins to Adaptyv Bio EGFR binder competition. My strategy was Chai1 optimization on a diverse set of known EGFR binders shown below. Lower 2 are antibody FABs (necitumumab and panitumumab) which are too large for the competition requirements so...

Delighted to hear that 5 of my protein designs have been selected for testing! Thanks Adaptyv Bio - very excited to see the results

New preprint ! "Restoring Synaptic Balance in Schizophrenia: Insights from a thalamo-cortical conductance-based model." biorxiv.org/content/10.110… with Lioba Berndt and Krish D. Singh.

Some news... This week I passed my PhD viva with no corrections! A big thank you to my examiners @KathaSchmack and Krish D. Singh for such an inspiring discussion, and to my amazing supervisors Rick Adams 🇺🇦@drrickadams.bsky.social, Daniel Hauke and Karl Friston for all their support throughout my PhD!
