"Bellevue" house, built in 1801, was the residence of the commandant of armed forces for British North America. The building stood at the corner Spring Garden Road and Queen Street until it was gutted by fire, seen here, on March 10, 1885. #OTD

I found heaven last night! I went to The Narrows Public House for St. Patrick's Day and it was the perfect pub. Halifax needed exactly this - the perfect combination of traditional pub aesthetics and modern traditional fare. No signage. Look for this house on Gottingen:

Some attractive decoration around this earthenware pan (possibly a milk pan). These types of vessel are often undecorated, utilitarian pieces, so it's lovely to see these decorative additions on this one #nsarchaeology Nova Scotia Museum

Delicate excavation of flint flakes scatter, left behind 480,000 years ago, maybe by early Neanderthal people. The scatter preserves the shadow of their knees. Boxgrove. #FlintFriday

My childhood friend's daughter, her husband and thier young daughter lost their home in the Altadena fire. They have already raised over $50,000. Any help you can give to this beautiful family would be greatly appreciated. gofund.me/d7973b48
