Per a Rolling Fork, Mississippi police offer: “Major tornado damage, we need as many ambulances as possible and any help for search and rescue in this town” I was asked to tweet this. Please share.

My heart breaks for those back home in Mississippi impacted by the tornadoes last night. It makes me beyond furious that the closest place for those in Rolling Fork to receive medical care is an hour away.

The parents of two children who died by AR-15 gunfire consented to having The Post visually reconstruct what the bullets did to their bodies. A spokesman for the family of Peter Wang, a Parkland victim, said the "parents want people to know the truth" wapo.st/3JRkV4o

"...in a small Delta town of about 2,000 people, hardly anyone escaped the storm without losing someone they knew or loved." You'd be hard pressed to find a better combo than Bracey's pen and Imani's camera. Just heartbreaking.

My dad went out to Rolling Fork today to set up a “cell tower on wheels.” He’s a Verizon engineer and has been working nonstop over the weekend to help get cell towers back up and running across the state. Here are some pictures he sent today.

am sitting in an empty lot in rolling fork. saw a postal service worker drive into the lot, spend a few minutes staring out the destruction, wipe his face, then leave. in awe of his sense of duty to continue his job, even when there are no mailboxes to deliver to.

It's good Biden came — this state is obviously hurting. But Mississippians rarely get a chance to intimately connect with a president. Questionable decision by WH to keep local reporters, who know this place and its people better than anyone, from getting some time with him.

I've been very vocal about my desire to eliminate food deserts in our neighborhoods. Today is a huge step in making healthy foods assessable to all. This morning we cut the ribbon and welcomed residents to the brand new Food Giant at 2220 Bessemer Road.

Under Mississippi law, sheriff's deputies are required to pick people up when they're being involuntarily hospitalized. (And often, their first stop is the local jail, not a hospital.) Deputies have killed at least 3 people during these pick-ups in the last 12 years.
