Following the success of our #ANUstrike yesterday, we've been able to lock in significant improvements for casual & fixed-term staff at ourANU. We'll take these to NTEU members on 3 August. 🧵

We've locked in an 18.7% reduction in casual FTE as a % of total FTE based on 2020 numbers - this brings @ourNAU down to 10% casual FTE. This is one of the lowest % totals in the sector. There will also be 116 FTE jobs for casuals to achieve the reduction.

Fixed-term staff who aren't externally funded (and not on an employment scheme) will have the opportunity to convert to continuing after 5 years. Externally funded can convert to CCF. Conversion is also a remedy if you're incorrectly employed fixed-term.

And casual staff will now get gender affirmation leave 🏳️‍⚧️, long service leave, 3 days of sick leave and an increase in super from 11% to 12.5%.

We have been able to win these improvements because you were willing to take action. Our strength at the negotiating table only reflects the strength of our membership outside the bargaining room. ✊ #ANUstrike
