currently reading Ashley John-Baptiste book on holiday Children in care often take “extra baggage” & “extra worries” to school - this isn’t excusing behaviour - this is understanding circumstances What many need is to be told - despite what they may have done “we still care” 💙
Everyone should read ‘Poor’ by Katriona O'Sullivan. This powerful book offers a profound insight into the challenges faced by those growing up in poverty. “Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty, but it requires understanding and empathy from those who provide it.”
It is through healthy relationships with loving people that children heal from trauma. The children learn to trust again through these relationships. Thank you Bruce D. Perry, M.D.,Ph.D.
Even as a politics lecturer in a Middle East department, I am lost. Israel has a right to self defence, but Lebanon does not? Israelis have the right to be safe, but Palestinians do not? Iran can’t launch missiles into civilian areas, but Israel can? None of this is coherent.
