Ian McCartney did wonderful things for Makerfield - and for the country. It was great to welcome him back for a dinner with local residents recently - a reminder of what Labour Government's do for people everywhere.

I was proud to return to Parliament on Saturday to secure Britain's future capacity for steel manufacture. In my patch, the possible closure of Electric Glass Fibre UK also threatens vital future supply chains - I'm doing everything I can to keep it open wigantoday.net/business/mp-fi…

I've visited the site again and I'm in touch with the Government and Union reps. We are working hard to find a solution. We must keep Hindley Green producing these critical materials, for jobs, skills and for Britain in an insecure age.

"It's hugely exciting. I very much hope that President Trump does come to the UK in September and meets the Royal Family and meets the Prime Minister." Labour MP Josh Simons on Donald Trump's possible visit to the UK this September. #Newsnight

I visited Downing Street today to discuss the Nippon Electric Glass site in Hindley Green. Electric Glass Fibre's products are used in the defence, renewable energy and transport industries. Keeping these British skills and supply chains is vital. I will keep fighting to save

Was great to have you Ryan Wain. You’re right. It’s easy to spend time talking as politicians. Listening, really listening, is much harder.

Reform want to dismantle our NHS. Meanwhile, we're renewing it, bringing primary care back to towns like Orrell. Do you want politicians who do the hard work to fix the NHS, or politicians who would rather give up and scrap it?

'There’s a massive illegal waste dump near a school in my patch… Everyone passes the buck. That’s not good enough.' Labour’s Josh Simons MP says voters are impatient for change, and politicians must stop dodging responsibility.

Working people want change and they want Westminster to work better for them. We have to be in every room in Whitehall, making the case for them.

The amount of money we are spending on Asylum hotels is eye watering. My message to voters like Shannon is this - we've already made progress, but we know that more needs to be done, and we will take responsibility for tackling the disastrous crisis left by the Tories.

Great to have Sascha visit Makerfield, and see all the potential of our area - and the traffic that's holding us back. 🛣️
