Delighted to host Resia Pretorius and Putrino Lab at Yale today. @ValterVSM and I learned how to image #microclots and activated platelets. Activated platelet stained with anti-CD62P antibody are evident just looking through the eyepiece 👀 This is from a #longCOVID patient👇🏽😭

I'd like to offer a long-overdue thank you to Brian T. Rice - whom I've never met - for providing such rich and interesting curation via retweets and catalyzing so much serendipity. Thanks for contributing wonderfully to the essential magic of this place!

As you watch him announce tonight, always remember that Senate Republicans could have voted to convict him in early 2021. It would have been the right thing to do, and if they had done it, he wouldn’t be announcing tonight.

One of the things that I think is sad about the decimation of Twitter eng is that Twitter was doing a lot of interesting (and high ROI) engineering work that, at younger companies, is mostly outsourced to "the cloud" or open source projects A few examples off the top of my head:

Twitter fam, thank you for helping me to find the family of the 9 year old girl from NJ who had the police called on her by her neighbor for collecting lantern flies. I connected with them & invited them to @yale for a Black girl led Science Tour! Yesterday—HISTORY was MADE (1/)

Shout out to all the workers at Twitter. You all built a vital place for connection and deserved so much better. Millions of people appreciate the space you built and the hard work that went into it. Thank you 💙

Silicon Valley execs have no plan here. They’re busy hawking imaginary internet money and a fantasy world through a headset nobody wants. If this place dies, there’s no place for centralized protest or citizen reporting of events. They abandoned the public good years ago.

I've seen a lot of people asking "why does everyone think Twitter is doomed?" As an SRE and sysadmin with 10+ years of industry experience, I wanted to write up a few scenarios that are real threats to the integrity of the bird site over the coming weeks.
