Year 5 had a great day kicking off ‘Creative Arts Week’. We looked at the artists, David Hockney and Mark Hearld. We were inspired by their creativity and created mood boards using similar techniques. Jerry Clay Academy Art

Reception have been exploring our theme for Creative Arts week ‘The world through my eyes”. They expressed how they see the world through sketching, moodboards and constructing their special places. Jerry Clay Academy Jerry Clay Academy Art #CreativeArts #EYFS

Year 6 have spent the day having thought provoking discussions about ‘The World Through Our Eyes.’ Using our discussions, we created some fantastic mood boards thinking about our choice of layout, colour and how things have different levels of importance to us. Jerry Clay Academy Art

Year 6 have been using a variety of landscape artists to explore and experiment with shape, colour, pattern and mood. We will use these as inspiration for our final designs tomorrow. Jerry Clay Academy Art

Year 1 have been inspired by two artists this week: Ed Mell and Lorna Crane. Ed Mell has inspired us to think about background, foreground and colour, whilst we made our own brushes, like Lorna Crane, to create abstract art! Jerry Clay Academy Art

Our junior leader has been working hard on updating her creative arts display with exploratory work from our Creative arts week! Jerry Clay Academy

During creative arts week, Year 3 have been comparing two different artists and have created a mood board. We looked at Mark Hearld and his use of collaging. Then, we explored the use of shapes and colours in Ed Mell’s work. Jerry Clay Academy Art

Year 3 have used hot or cool tones to paint a colour wash background for our final art piece. We then used collage to create a foreground and background. We will add finishing touches tomorrow. Jerry Clay Academy Art #theworldthroughmyeyes 🎨

Children from all classes have collaborated to create an outdoor art project with Emma Bairstow this week. We can't wait to see this displayed at our gallery!

Year 4 have experimented with their printing skills this afternoon. They have been inspired William Morris to create natural prints and we can’t wait to create our final pieces. Jerry Clay Academy Art

Year 1 had fun exploring mod roc this afternoon - what will we make these into next?! Jerry Clay Academy Art #recycle #concentration #newskills

Once again I am in awe of our sister school Jerry Clay Academy. I had the pleasure of attending their Art Gallery event this evening and revelled in the appreciation of the art process on display. Wonderful to see so many children and parents in attendance too #Pride #Community #❤️Art

Thank you for your kind words! We are so proud of our children and they loved sharing their art gallery with you all!😊🖼️ Jerry Clay Academy

Year 6 had a super afternoon finding out about Barbara Hepworth. We looked at her early life as an artist and sculptor and discussed her inspiration behind her art pieces. We created some fantastic mood boards exploring some of her work Jerry Clay Academy Art The Hepworth Wakefield
