In Maths, Year 2 are focussing on fractions. Today, we explored how we can represent one half in a variety of ways and to find one half of a number using concrete resources.

In computing Year 3 continued to add to their presentations about themselves. They thought about what others might find interesting and how they wanted to communicate this in their PowerPoint #Wearewhoweare #computing

Year 4 have enjoyed observational drawing this afternoon. We experimented sketching different flowers by doing a 1 minute drawing, a continuous line drawing and then understanding the negative space. We then explored the size of our drawing Jerry Clay Academy Art #sketching

Year 5 enjoyed recapping the different shading techniques. We took our learning outside to find and sketch rocks. We applied our knowledge of shading to create smooth and rough textures. 🪨 Jerry Clay Academy Art

Year 3 enjoyed a lovely yoga session in the classroom yesterday! They focussed primarily on their breathing techniques and being present in their surroundings 🧘‍♀️ #mindfulness

Year 6 have been learning about the art and sculptures of Barbara Hepworth. We have been exploring the inspiration behind these and analysing quotes from her life and work. #JCAArt #JCAReading

Year 3 and 4 used different techniques to fold and shape paper to create intricate detailed animals. Next week, we are striving to replicate our shapes and colours using water colours 🖌️👩🏻‍🎨

Year 2 have used QR codes and iPads to research our new theme ‘What’s the weather’. We loved being independent and using our enquirer skills to research our questions and find out more!
