Proud of this team! ❤️ Over the 14 months of funding to design & deliver BRInC program 4/9 CI’s had babies 👶🏻 (2 pictured). Supporting female ECRs in biomechanics is central to our BRInC program & this is SUCH a critical time for many of us. Fortunate to have such a great team!
OpenSim Creator 0.3.0 is now available: github.com/ComputationalB… It comes with a cool new feature: live muscle plotting (video below). Shoutout to Julia van Beesel and Thomas Geijtenbeek, who helped test parts of 0.3.0 and gave valuable feedback on it!
Gender #inequality is a big problem in #STEM and biomech is no diff. This paper highlights the issue & some solutions. Can’t wait for initiatives like International Women in Biomechanics & @BRINC to minimise barriers although we all can help! Grateful to work with this awesome team - read&share🙏
Our BRInC program team from Robina High School testing out their 3D printed insoles using our Logemas Pty Ltd AMTI Mobius treadmill funded by Griffith University Griffith Health The next generation of biomechanists!#WomenInSTEM #BRInC
Why do YOU think the arch recoils? Our new study in Frontiers - Bioengineering and Biotechnology uses high-speed x-ray to show that arch recoil is critical to propulsion because it orients the ankle upright. Arch recoil increases contact time, likely to generate propulsive ankle power more efficiently. 1/5

Honoured to receive the 2023 QLD #WomenInSTEM Prize last night along with other great scientists! Queensland Museum Kurilpa Thanks to the amazing collaborators, mentors and allies I have had along the way...and the support of family and friends. youtube.com/watch?v=c7uqxJ…
Lots of fun in the lab filming for 9News yesterday with our BRInC program team from Robina High School. Exposing the next generation of women to biomechanics! #WomeninSTEM x.com/9newsgoldcoast…
Music is medicine, if harnessed effectively. Today in Nature Communications we report on the efficacy and safety an autonomous auditory-motor intervention that applies the #rhythm of music to retrain walking after stroke. Check it out here: nature.com/articles/s4146… Thread...1/6
