I officiated at the launch of the Mental Health week at Parliament, aimed at creating awareness and building understanding of the fact that mental health issues remain a problem to many of our people from all walks of life, a problem we must address inclusively and decisively.

Many factors such as unemployment, isolation, poverty, loss of a loved one, failure to meet a debt obligation, among others can all lead to mental breakdown. I therefore urge Employers, Recruiting Agencies and Security agencies to consider mandatory periodic counselling services
