The abandoned Shambles or slaughterhouses in #monmouth, built in the 1830s and Grade II * listed. Dilapidated, fascinating and slightly creepy.

I counted 20 swans between the Wyastone bend and Wyebridge in #monmouth. Only one breeding pair that I could see, though (although there is a family of four or five cygnets a bit further downstream. #wye #wyevalley

Even though, yes, there's some mud washed into the River Wye from the land, the issues are far worse than that. For anyone wondering what the problem is, then this is useful from Save The Wye Coalition savethewye.org/the-state-of-tโ€ฆ

Different angle, same location, today and June 2018. The crowfoot is dying, the water is slow moving, warm and smelly. It is full of tiny fish though, so itโ€™s not all bad! #wye #wyevalley #monmouth
