Every daycare has a waiting list, there's no childminding, formula is $50+ a can, there's no childrens' tylenol, people complain when you bring your kids *anywhere*, no mask mandate in schools, kids home sick most days a month - how are you doing, parents? Like HOW are you

The average annual cost of #childcare in the U.S. hit $10,600 per child in 2021 according to data from Child Care Aware of America. Affording care is going to hurt no matter where you live, but as this new graphic illustrates, $10k would be downright affordable in many parts of the country.

Want to hear a scary story? The Administration for Children and Families has released state-specific fact sheets detailing how states are using one-time American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) dollars in #childcare. And they are absolutely terrifying. 🧵

🗳️The future of childcare is in our hands. All working families deserve quality, affordable, local child care and all providers deserve to earn a living wage with sustainable benefits.

Imagine if, rather than having a public school system, we told parents it was up to them to secure and finance K12 education on their own. And that if they couldn’t afford it then maybe they just shouldn’t have had a child. For many this is our current reality from birth-five.

💪🏽We won’t stop fighting for #ChildCare Child care is not a luxury for our families it’s a necessity! 📢A necessity that needs to be addressed! Let parents get back to work/school and invest EVERYTHING we can into child care! #Invest #Money #ParentPower #Family

💪🏽Let's push to keep #ChildTaxCredit expansion front & center as Congress negotiates end-of-year spending. Last year's House version of the #BuildBackBetter Act was critical AND could have moved us closer to closing the racial wealth gap. ✊🏽 #BuildBackForJustice #ParentPower ✊🏽
