Amazing day at the Royal Society of Chemistry presenting at the RSC Organic Poster Symposium. Honored to present our chemistry to such a diverse group of organic chemists!

🚨Last minute announcement🚨 Unfortunately Mujeeb Alam can’t make it today. Luckily Abed Saady Abed Saady from the The Goldup Lab is going to present his work on mechanically caged molecules – lots of lovely rotaxanes! See you at 14.30 UK time!

The Steve Goldup group UoBChemistry present a platform for the synthesis of mechanically caged molecules, a macrocycle that can be modified to open in response to triggers. Mechanical caging is an old dog but this opens the field to new tricks! #openaccess onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/an…

Conferences are always great opportunities to catch up with old colleagues. Especially a pleasure to see what Noël Pairault is getting up to in the Nathan McClenaghan!

A great poster session presenting our recent work in the The Goldup Lab at Supr@Paris 2024 on mechanical stereoisomers and their stereoselective syntheses 🔗🍖 Thankfully everyone was primed and ready to talk stereochemistry after Steve Goldup's talk yesterday!

Thanks to the Supr@Paris 2024 team for the excellent science, hospitality, views and the opportunity to meet with old (lots of The Goldup Lab alumni!) and new friends in supramolecular chemistry. A huge success and many happy memories!

A huge congratulations to Abed Abed Saady! He was a massive influence in the group and we can't wait to see the great things to come from the Saady Lab at Bar Ilan University!

A great start to the UoBChemistry postgraduate symposoum! Next up is Georgia (Georgia Malcolm) presenting our recent work on caged interlocked molecules 🔗🍖

We are delighted to announce that the 2024 RSC MASC Group PhD Thesis Award given in memory of John Fossey is awarded to Peter Gallagher Peter R. Gallagher from the University of Birmingham. Peter works in the group of Steve Goldup Many congratulations! mascgroup.co.uk/prizes-awards/…

It's an honour to receive this award and I'm looking forward to sharing my PhD work in my prize lecture at this year's RSC_MASC meeting in York. I can't thank my lab mates in the The Goldup Lab and Steve Goldup for the support over the years. This is equally their award as it is mine.

What better present could you get for Christmas than a PhD? Yesterday I defended my thesis ahead of my prize lecture in York on Tuesday. Thanks to Dr. Fielden (Stephen Fielden), Prof. McGonigal (mcgonigalgroup), and Prof. Harrowven (virtually) for examining my thesis! #PhDone!
