When the Dutch build roads, they typically build adjacent high-quality, direct cycle paths at the same time. This could be done in the UK for a tiny percentage of the budget of new roads schemes. It would transform sustainable connectivity between settlements. Let’s do it.

Very happy to report that the cycle lanes along Wilmslow / Oxford Road have, this season, been swept regularly and are much safer and clear of leaves - including two previous hotspots outside Platt Fields Park & the bus bypass by the Universities. Huge thanks to Manchester City Council

But subways are horrible with poor lines of sight and dark and... oh.
