The Diamondbacks have completed a trade for 3b Nolan Arenado with St. Louis. Arizona sends Jack Martinez to the Cardinals.

We have made the following trade:

Arenado will make $27 million in 2026 and $15 million in 2027, including deferrals. From what I am hearing, the Cardinals will be picking up the majority of the contract with Arizona paying roughly $10 million over the two years.

There were several teams that were interested in acquiring Arenado, but he has a full no trade clause, and he wanted to be a Diamondback. So he waived the no trade to come here.
