I'm so proud of my idiotic son who today walked from Anderby Creek to Skegness then cycled from Skeggy to Melton Mowbray all to raise money for MND Association and the #trebleonetrust in memory of his mate former Leicestershire Police Sgt Stewart Sparling. Please support him on his last leg

Great visit today to the RAF Metheringham on a recce for a new 'battlefield' tour I'm creating looking at the story of the 'Delivery Boys' of the US IX Troop Carrier Command 52nd Troop Carrier Wing. They have a C47 Dakota which is painted on the starboard side to represent RAF

Looking forward to the Defence Animal Training Regiment open day this coming Saturday, 28th June 2025 from 10:30am to 4:30pm. This event is held every other year & it is always a very popular event and best of all it is FREE! So bring your family along and enjoy all the military demonstrations

Great day today at the Defence Animal Training Regiment open day in #MeltonMowbray. Many thanks to Mrs F for helping out and to Custom Boutique for the branded polo shirts. Lots of interest in my talks and tours especially my new #battlefieldtours that will going live later this year.

Next two weeks on Old Front Line Podcast we have two QnA episodes coming up and then we move into something new - War in the Air Month where we will look at the RFC/RAF during the Great War with a series of special episodes finishing in mid-August.

I know I advertise my tours as "There's more to Melton Mowbray than Pork Pies and Stilton Cheese" but it's great to see our town and its famous food products featured on tonights BBC Countryfile If you would like to find out more about the rich and fascinating history of Melton
