Deeply ingrained heteronormativity makes it completely non-sexual to talk/read with kids about mom+dad, but somehow hyper-sexual to talk/read about mom+mom or dad+dad. Kids will see LGBTQ+ people as normal unless they are taught/conditioned (by adults) to see them otherwise.

We’re not secondaries , people need to stop trying to make primaries like mini-secondaries. We need to embrace what’s great about primary education and shout about it. Our job isn’t just to prepare children for the next step it’s way more important than that.
