We also adopted a recent unsupervised extension of a classic explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) technique to interpret biologically meaningful dependencies that deviated following a treatment (see in #preprint). 7/9

NimwegenLab Mae Woods Gennady Gorin Arjun Raj The existence of ZI as a "technical artifact" is distinct from divergence from a NB or Poisson dist. This paper genomebiology.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11… e.g. argues that zero inflation is observed for certain genes & is of Biological origin (& recommends still using a GLM with NB counts w/o ZI).

Hello, hello! All the scRNAseq and ST analysis I have done in my PhD are coming to an end! From October I’ll be scholarship-less and ready for more! I’m into ML/DL/AI for Biomedicine but also considering bioinfo position as a transition phase. Rt appreciated! Pic: fav two slices

What I've always said is: it makes no sense to stamp 10k velocity vectors together on a single UMAP image. If you want reliable results, focus on the velocity of the specific genes you're interested in

cell.com/cell/fulltext/… 😯😯always wondered about the metabolic side of TAMs! Nice work! I guess that epigenetic rewiring is the key to understand what a cell will do, while the metabolic layer is key to understand what a cell is doing?

My 2 cents: You’re not failing. Work relationships, like any others, are driven by ambition, success, desire, and empathy. Lacking one, they deteriorate. It’s all about balance. science.org/content/articl…

A few years ago I was in a position to do something unique in neuroscience. I had been working with the phenomenal Emily G. Jacobs on menopause and inspired by Laura Pritschet's menstrual study, and I was planning a pregnancy. What if we scanned my brain?? nature.com/articles/s4159…
