🚧 Milestone Achieved! Today, Caltrans celebrated the completion of the Hwy. 46 East/SR 41 Interchange Project in San Luis Obispo County—enhancing traffic flow and safety at this key regional intersection.

State Route 198 is closed from the Monterey/Fresno County Line to approximately one-half mile west of Coalinga at Firestone Avenue due to a brush fire. There is no estimate for opening. Caltrans HQ

The new Highway 46 East/State Route 41 Interchange is open after a three day closure of SR 41 to connect the new interchange to the route. All ramps to the interchange are open. Two-way travel on the new westbound lanes continues for eight weeks until the eastbound lanes open.

COALINGA: State Route 198 continues to be closed at Firestone Avenue due to Firestone Fire. Firestone Fire is currently 25% contained and the ETO is currently unknown.

A safety project on US 101 near Prunedale will begin Sunday 6/22 with Sunday thru Friday overnight lane closures between Crazy Horse Canyon and Dunbarton Rd. At least one lane in each direction will remain open during construction. Delays of up to 15 minutes. #SlowForTheConeZone

A four-day paving project continues on Highway 9, near Boulder Creek and Brookdale through Thursday, June 19. Work to be conducted daily from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with one-way reversing traffic control. Crews on 6/18 and 6/19 focused in Brookdale between Larkspur St. and Irwin Way.

From Saturday, June 21 at 6 am to Sunday, June 22 at 11 am, crews will perform final roadway paving on Soquel Ave. between 17th Ave. and Chanticleer Ave. under one-way flagging control. Crews will perform grinding and excavation work, place rock, and pave with vibratory rollers.

Travelers in both directions of Hwy. 17 north of Scotts Valley will encounter overnight closure of shoulder and the #2 (right) lane to upgrade electrical systems. Work to take place from 9 pm to 5 am starting Sunday 6/22, and will continue Monday, 6/23, and Tuesday, 6/24 24.

Travelers on northbound Hwy. 1, one-half mile north of the junction with Hwy. 9, will encounter a closure of the #2 (right) lane from 9 pm to 5 am starting Sunday, June 22, with work continuing Monday, June 23, and Tuesday, June 24, to upgrade overhead flashing beacon.

Starting Monday, June 23, crews to close the Park Ave. onramp to northbound Hwy. 1 for five months for full reconstruction. This closure is in addition to the current closures of the southbound Hwy. 1 offramp and the northbound offramp at Park Ave. where construction is ongoing.

The northbound US 101 off-ramp at Hwy. 1 near Gaviota will be closed Sat. June 28 from 6 am to 1 pm. Travelers will detour north on US 101 to State Route 246 in Buellton to reach Lompoc. Message boards will be posted. This ramp closure is necessary to replace a light pole.

A project to replace the Castroville overhead sign continues on State Route 183 at Preston Street. Daytime work hours are from 9 to 3. Full overnight closures at this location are set for June 30, July 1 and 2 from 8 pm to 6 am. Completion set for early July. Caltrans HQ
