🚨 New preprint alert! I am excited to present a collaboration between the Doudna Lab and Zev Bryant lab, with co-first authors Noor Al-Sayyad and Kevin Wasko and me. Curious about what drives high-efficiency genome editing by Cas9? Let’s dive in!👇🧵biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Recent work from the lab from Laura Chacon Laura Chacon Machado describing a family of Tn7-like transposons that evolved to target CRISPR repeats being presented at #cshlTE24 and now on bioRxiv biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Captain Aureispira - a bacterial pirate ship🦜🏴☠️🪝- boarded Science Magazine. Check out the manuscript here: science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… and have a look on our extended thread below ⬇️We provide new insights on bacterial predation from molecules ⚛️to ocean samples 🌊

shouting out an organization near and dear to my heart: iGEM at Berkeley! we're crowdfunding this month to help fulfill our mission to break down barriers to undergrad synbio research-- learn more about how you can support us here ⬇️ crowdfund.berkeley.edu/project/43580/…

The Rubin Lab had an amazing time at Inside Institute for Geographic Information Science Climate 2024 earlier this month! 🌎✨ Big shoutout to @Amanda_T_Alker, Jigyasa Arora, and Bingliang for their fantastic posters!

Excited to share my PhD work!🎉 By characterizing and comparing the cells at the aboral end of the planula larva in 3 cnidarian species, we identified shared molecular features and propose a model for settlement regulation in cnidarians 🪼🪸. Clytia group LBDV tinyurl.com/37z2ma2f

🚨New del Campo Lab Preprint: A Single-cell Atlas of Coral Bleaching! 🪸🦠🔥. We show the microbial ecology of coral bleaching from the gene expression of host and symbiont cells to the shifts in the bacterial and protist communities within the holobiont! researchsquare.com/article/rs-539…

There she goes! The URI Graduate School of Oceanography vessel RV Endeavor came to BIOS | Arizona State University to cover the absence of our vessel (she is at shipyard). My team joined the Bermuda Atlantic Time-Series Study (BATS 🦇) crew for our last cruise of our #NSFfunded grant on the role of #rhizaria in the oligotrophic ocean-more pictures to come!
