Lots of fun was had in Reception when a PE coach came into class. Children explored different ways to balance on different parts of their bodies using different equipment. Well done Reception Pennine Partnership
Year 1 are learning about seasons in science and English and went looking for spring. They found quite a few clues, buds, new shoots and even slugs under rocks. They found an evergreen tree among all the deciduous trees in our outdoor forest area. Cornerstones Education

At Ashbrow we are always thinking of ways to support the environment. Work has begun on our pollinator garden. The existing raised beds are being removed and the new garden beds are being prepared, ready for planting up next month. Thank you Morley Glass #reducereuserecycle
The children in Year 1 have enjoyed programming Bee-Bot robots and learning how to instruct them with algorithms. This half term, we will continue to experiment with the robots and create more complex instructions. Kapow Primary
In Year 3 the children have been exploring ammonites and sketching them using a range of drawing media and sketching techniques. Cornerstones Education
Year 5 have enjoyed learning about land art and creating some of their own low relief pieces of land art with a partner. The children used natural materials from around the school grounds to create their amazing pieces of art work. Cornerstones Education
This week, Year 1 visited the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. It has been a fantastic experience. The children have been writing a recount of their day as part of their English lessons and use their knowledge in Science to sort animals by what they eat. Yorkshire Wildlife Park 🦁 Cornerstones Education
The pupils in Year 5 have been starting their Mixed Media art topic. They have enjoyed making their own handmade paper and then creating some paper collages based on their chosen theme of colour, texture, line or shape.Cornerstones Education
Y6 have started their Make Do and Mend design and technology topic related to WWII. The children have had a go at unpicking clothes which was an important skill at the time, they will then go on to practise different stitches and looking at adapting clothing. Cornerstones Education
In Y2 we have been learning about pushes and pulls in our DT work.We have already learned how to make slider and lever mechanisms and today we learned the linkage mechanism. We used 3 bars, a background and split pins to make an owl with a head that moves. Cornerstones Education
In Science, our year 4 topic is 'Electrical Circuits and Conductors'. This week, we explored circuits and their components. We learnt how circuits work and what happens if they are incomplete. Cornerstones Education
