Pre-pre-rugby meal The Hind's Head Bray last night - all their classics, the oxtail and kidney pudding was particularly brilliant with the Talbot 2004. Pre-rugby meal Chez Bruce today, we are taking some lovely wines along to go with Matt Christmas fantastic cooking, cannot wait!

Excellent lunch Midsummer House midsummerchef today - I've wanted to go for ages, but what a beautiful setting on a bright sunny day, plus first rate service throughout. The food wasn't too shabby either!!!

Fabulous dinner Old Stamp House, every course of the tasting menu was flawlessly executed, and very well balanced. The hogget brioche was the standout - absolutely outstanding dish. Your sommelier was great too!

Birthday weekend in London sorted...Saturday lunch at The Ritz John Williams followed by Sunday lunch Chez Bruce Matt Christmas . Can't wait to see if The Ritz is as good as everyone is saying, and it's always a pleasure to eat at Chez Bruce - my favourite restaurant in the UK.

Fab pizzas Napoli On The Road Chiswick last night. Massively looking forward to lunch The Ritz London John Williams today, the restaurant I've most wanted to go to for a long time! Then lunch at my favourite Chez Bruce Matt Christmas tomorrow to round off the birthday weekend!

What kind of chef serves a slice of Chateaubriand as a garnish??!! Only Matt Christmas Chez Bruce would do such a thing! Yet another fantastic meal, the cuttlefish tagliatelle standing out, FOH were particularly wonderful today too, even by their own high standards.

South African WIMPS La Trompette yesterday, the wines were good but the food was sensational! Gregory Wellman and his team knocked it out of the park, especially that lamb. Perhaps Matt Christmas could pick up a few recipes 🤣

Twickenham today for the #GallagherPremFinal then heading to Chez Bruce Matt Christmas tomorrow for another awesome lunch.

Magnificent lunch as always Chez Bruce Matt Christmas, great to see the cheeseboard back in full glory, though I feel sorry for the waitress who has to lift it!! Veal cavatelli and cherry tart are CB classics, but that chicken with the romesco and sweetcorn 😍 so much flavour.

Claret ready for dinner Chez Bruce Matt Christmas tomorrow, then the Alsatian is for 'France Less Celebrated' WIMPS La Trompette on Friday. Great way to start the school summer holidays!

Another brilliant meal from my all time favourite restaurant Chez Bruce Matt Christmas - fishcakes with cuttlefish was the standout dish for me, brilliant with our Riesling. Loved the strawberry croissant millefeuille with the Sauternes too. Outstanding service as always.

Absolutely brilliant WIMPS lunch La Trompette today - Less Celebrated France gave us chance to drink from Alsace and Loire. Food was sensational, my personal favourite was the veal, but the rabbit was a close 2nd, and there is nothing more impressive than 32 perfect souffles!

All set for my final visit of the summer to London - Albarino for Chez Bruce Matt Christmas tomorrow, Shiraz for WIMPS La Trompette Gregory Wellman on Friday, plus a sneaky lunch T H E N I N T H on Saturday before I catch my train home. Looking forward to it all!

Tonight I finally had the signature roast cod Chez Bruce - such a great dish, and perfect with our Chardonnay. The rabbit cavatelli was my dish of the day though, packed with flavour, the kind of thing that Matt Christmas does better than anyone. Brilliant meal.

Champagne & Syrah WIMPS La Trompette yesterday, Gregory Wellman and his team knocked it out of the park as always! Scallop & lobster tortelloni was the standout dish, particularly with the Comtes, and I really enjoyed the "dessert" which was deliciously different.

Highlights from a 2 night break The Star at Harome chefandrewpern some absolutely stunning dishes - personal favourites were the poached cauliflower with truffle, the "coronation" scallop and the lamb taco on the side of the cutlet. I have to say your somm Olly was brilliant too.
