This May 2nd, students across the country made their voice clear: This is not a test. Happy to have stood alongside by peers at Harvard to call on our school to protect the integrity of our climate research as a part of the nationwide Campus Climate Network action this afternoon :)

We can't legislate away transphobia. Attempting to regulate speech will not change attitudes. The only cure for intolerance is civil discourse and meaningful dialogue across different worldviews.

It’s Commencement day at @harvard, and already Alan Garber has been treated to two standing ovations — one when he appeared at the podium, and another when he notes that graduates hail from “around the world — just as it should be.” The school spirit and unity here is palpable.

Hot take: All supposed psychological disorders, illnesses, and syndromes are intrinsically normative notions; thus, psychology is itself an intrinsically normative discipline, founded upon substantive (often unexamined) assumptions about what constitutes human flourishing.

Someone needs to tell the men that keep catcalling me me that JK Rowling has declared I have male privilege because I am trans and cannot be subject to such treatment.

Universities must not capitulate. Trumpism will not stop destroying the academy no matter how much we play nice and give in to Trump's demands. All this does is disadvantage students of color, queer students, and women. End of story.

The word is "fewer," Charlie. Then again, I'm sure in your ideal world there would be "less" English majors, and we'd see grammar as the liberal conspiracy it clearly is.

If you're a moral realist (without an extremely skeptical epistemology), shouldn't you expect there to be a narrower set of theories on which experts converge at any given time in moral philosophy?

But what we mean by "the sky" has changed over time. Long gone are the days when we thought the moon was affixed to a cylinder rotating around the Earth. What our terms mean changes over time. That's the point of engaging in philosophy and yes, science.

TERFs will say that they face discrimination while claiming that discrimination against trans women is ok. I'm not in favor of de-platforming, but why have they decided that their political views make them deserve stronger anti-discrimination protections than trans people?

People who say things like this think writing an academic article in the humanities is like writing a longer version of a high school book report.

Redrawing congressional maps to guarantee one-party rule is the same thing as establishing a single-party system with the veneer of democracy covering up this new unsavory reality.
