When I went to uni in 2002, a lecturer said ‘you can’t be a farmer, farmers all wear tweed and drive Range Rovers’. The picture he painted was utterly alien to me. Please, please read - whatever your political leanings, and whatever you *think* farmers are.

Certain sectors of society/politics are weaponising this situation. Don’t let them. Use your noggin and actually listen to farmers. It affects *all* of us.

Thanks Rob The absolute tragedy here isn’t financial, it is the squandering of the chance to turn thousands of British farmers in to menders of nature, and the breaking of the dream that we could have a better kind of farming

As ever when I report on farming, I have had replies from left wingers going "well they voted for Brexit so they deserve what they are getting". Actually according to polling about 53% of farmers voted for Brexit so very much in line with general population so this is a myth

Really, REALLY disappointed by specific ppl sharing anti-#farmer sentiments right now, with no concept of what the issues *actually* are and how closely linked they are to the survival of nature and affordable food for *all* of us - including the many farmers already in poverty.
