One week to go until the NHSBT Chief Nurse Fellowships start. I can't wait to introduce them to you all. Forever grateful to Florence Nightingale Foundation Canterbury Christ Church University and NHS England Workforce, Training and Education for giving me the support to introduce this opportunity to our nurses.

First up is Caroline Greenhalgh, our Clinical Services Chief Nurse Fellow. Caroline works in Therapeutic Apheresis Services as a specialist nurse. Throughout her fellowship she will be focusing on fatigue management during on call work.

Next is Jenny Wright, our Blood Supply Chief Nurse Fellow. Jenny works at our Nottingham Donor Centre as the Clinical Donor Centre Manager. She’s looking to establish best practice in the prevention of fainting, with the aim of reducing the incidence among blood donors.

Say hello to Claire Tranter, our Plasma for Medicine Chief Nurse Fellow. Claire works nationally as a plasma specialist nurse and will work on the creation of a vein assessment tool, with the aim of increasing the incidence of successful venepuncture.

And finally, Clare Jones is our Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation Chief Nurse Fellow. Clare works as an organ donation team manager in Yorkshire. Her fellowship is focusing on improving the tissue donation pathway.

Starting the day with a walk with Reggie is always great but it's more wonderful when the sun is shining.
