Do you (or have you) work in an insecure/precarious job & have a disability? Happy to share your experiences to improve understanding about the barriers disabled workers’ face? If so, The Work Foundation would love to hear from you: lancasteruni.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6F… Please share!

This week we are going to focus on disabled people’s experiences of insecure work after our recent report, authored by Aman Navani and Rebecca Florisson, focused on The Disability Gap: Insecure Work in the UK. lancaster.ac.uk/work-foundatio…

Last month we hosted our Disability Insecurity Gap event where Ben Harrison, Rebecca Florisson & Aman Navani were joined by Vicky Foxcroft 💙 MP, Robert Buckland MP & Fazilet Hadi of Disability Rights UK to discuss disabled workers’ experiences of insecure work. lancaster.ac.uk/work-foundatio…

New article: "The Impact of Welfare Conditionality on Experiences of Job Quality" in Work, Employment & Society So pleased to share this, co-authored with the wonderful Prof Sharon Wright Prof Lisa Scullion which re-analyses Conditionality data through a "job quality" lens journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/09…

Great article by Tom Pollard. If Labour do get into power, they will have to lead a shift in the public debate away from the negative framing around welfare claimants otherwise any move towards a system based on genuine engagement will be difficult to pull off politically

As we work longer, do our leave policies reflect these changes? My research with Aman Navani and Alice Martin, published today, surveys employers & analyses labour force data to reveal a worrying inequality in time off that risks deepening the UK health crisis.🧵(1/9)

Our latest The Work Foundation research using longitudinal data from the Understanding Society survey questions the narrative that insecure work is a stepping stone to more secure work. Insecure workers are more likely to be trapped in insecurity or fall out of work four years on.

📝Together with Lancaster University, Manchester Metropolitan Uni & Universal Inclusion – we are releasing research supported by the Nuffield Foundation exploring how remote & hybrid work can support disabled people to stay in, or re-join, the workforce. (1/10) lancaster.ac.uk/work-foundatio…
