What is an “emergency corridor?” Watch our #BlueLightAware video and learn how to safely allow emergency vehicles to pass you on motorways and dual carriageways

It's #InternationalDayOfHappiness 😄 Let’s find positive ways to look after ourselves and each other. SMILE and BE HAPPY! We can't always be #Happy in the face of the current pandemic, but we thought some of these shots of our crew smiling might brighten up your day! 🚁 😃

1/9. The last 18-hrs have seen headlines appearing in print & online leading on the first paramedic on scene at the Manchester bombing not treating anyone. Many from the pre-hospital & amb world have rightly challenged these headlines, this is exactly what is supposed to happen

A great thread about GCS scoring and highlights the importance of ‘breaking down’ a GCS score. It’s why HEMs Paras on dispatch desks are so keen to ask our colleagues on scene to give us the 3 scores rather than a total! Also, the reason for Motor Score 4 on trauma triage tool!

If you receive a drone for Christmas, make sure you enjoy it safely. Emergency service helicopters often operate below the 400ft maximum flying height for drones, so stay vigilant when flying your drone. You can find more advice online at: caa.co.uk/drones #dronesafe

The more I think about urban ‘HEMS’ prehospital care, it becomes more and more clear that time is, as we always knew, the most important determinant of outcome. Bleeding control, thoracotomy, REBOA, & even head injury anaesthesia (dysventilation, airway failure) are hugely time

Pre-alerts are curtesy calls to: •Warn hosp •State immediate needs >>like blood etc. •Give an ETA It is NOT the time for 20 Q’s or crew interrogation It’s hard when u struggling w a sick pt in a moving 🚐 & someone keeps asking a million irrelevant Q’s #DontBeThatPerson

Standard LUCAS position versus ~5cm lower and slightly off centre, ETCO2 increased 2kPa. Are we even getting the essentials right every time during cardiac arrest? Increasing need for precision rather than algorithmic medicine

Only 5 years ago we had no fixed base and one response vehicle. Now in 2023 we are so proud to have 5 response vehicles at our permanent base in Dereham. All of these vehicles and our base have come from the generous donations YOU have given and carry on giving us.. #Thankyou
