I do not say this lightly at all.

This is one of the dumbest things I've heard said from a church platform.

'American Christianity sometimes looks like a project in attempting to prove Jesus wrong when he said we cannot serve God and Mammon.'

Y'all are not ready for this new book, The Anti-Greed Gospel, from Rev. Malcolm Foley, PhD. But, God be praised, he's going to give it to you anyway.

I’ve never heard anyone struggle with anything as much as Reggie Miller struggles to say “holmgren”

I love how he’s just winging it. Just off the ol’ dome.

“How could we do it? What about every year, Congress puts on a passion play at the White House. Or maybe the Vice President has to go to a constitutionally approved seminary to get an MDiv”

UMCGC delegates vote to adopt regionalization. As Rev. Skadi, godess of righteouss anger helpfully reminded me, this petition essentially makes the US one among many regions worldwide, 1) decentering US UMC & 2) letting US Methodists adaptively apply parts of the Book of Discipline in their context.

Consequential debtates happening on the floor of the UMCGC right now. Delegates considering amending the constitution to allow for regionalization. Regionalization would let US, African, Filipino, & European regions adapt UMC legislation to their respective cultural contexts.

As someone who personally enjoys wine quite a bit, I’ve changed my perspective on this. The case for unfermented wine in our cultural context is, IMO, a no brainer:

The table is for all, and to be for all it must be particularly for those who can’t or shouldn’t ingest alcohol.
