In the short-term, status monitoring allows us to be corrective & address imbalances in fatigue/recovery as they occur. In the long-term, it enables an improved/preventative approach to avoid recurrence in the future. Monitoring should eventually reduce the need for intervention.

In addition to hypertension, ANS imbalance promotes metabolic abnormalities such as insulin resistance, hyperglycemia, & hyperlipidemia, which contribute to atherosclerosis. This can occur in lean individuals & precede weight gain. Low HRV can be an early warning sign.

Intense lifting repeatedly spikes blood pressure & afterload, which can cause the heart to thicken & the aorta to stiffen. While adaptive short term, these effects may not be inconsequential for everyone long term. Heavy lifting should be counterbalanced with aerobic exercise.
