Today, a group of Recruitment & Employment Confederation are in Parliament with our REC Press Office team hosting MPs, newly elected and re-elected, talking about the value of flexibility to workers and businesses. Thanks to Kevin Hollinrake MP for hosting us, Liam Byrne MP and Minister Justin Madders for speaking!

Todays #RECParliamentaryReception is a fantastic opportunity to discuss the vital role of the recruitment industry in shaping the UK economy. Our speakers include REC Chair, Michelle Mellor and REC Chief Executive, Neil Carberry alongside our parliamentary guests: The Rt Hon

Responding to the laying of amendments to the #EmploymentRightsBill, the REC Chief Executive Neil Carberry said: "The task at hand is to protect a temporary workforce roughly equivalent to the population of Birmingham—without undermining employer confidence at a crucial time for our

Commenting on the scrapping of NHS England, REC’s Kate Shoesmith said: “For too long, successive governments have failed to grasp the nettle on NHS workforce problems, leading NHSE to adopt ad-hoc policies that save pennies but end up costing pounds.” rec.uk.com/our-view/news/…

I would like to respond to Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham’s statement below following the Channel 4 documentary Groomed: A National Scandal which aired on Wednesday. Firstly, even though you are still trying to make more ‘political capital’ out of Victoria’s death at the hands of one

Pleased to share REC Press Office analysis of today’s Labour Market stats on BBC News (UK) today. Market is resilient, but still tough. Not yet seeing momentum build for a hiring bounceback- though some positive signs like a bump in temp numbers, which is always a harbinger.

Well said Neil Carberry!!

No surprises - farming catches the attention but BPR effects are swingeing across family biz, including our Recruitment & Employment Confederation - you can’t tax businesses like this and NI without an effect on growth. Reeves 'death tax' to cost more than 200,000 jobs cityam.com/reeves-inherit…

Once more unto the breach… in the House of Lords this morning for REC Press Office discussing the substantial practical issues the Employment Rights Bill poses for opportunity and growth. All fixable, but businesses including Recruitment & Employment Confederation need to see progress soon!

As the government begins its reform of publicly funded job finding schemes, a survey of employers finds they most trust private recruiters to find the right workers. As Kate Shoesmith said: “It is encouraging that the government accepts the one-size fits all approach by

The Minister and I don't always agree on the Employment Rights Bill... But his willingness to speak at #RECLive25, and to record this podcast for those who couldn't make it, shows that there is a recognition of the fact that Recruitment & Employment Confederation are key players in our jobs market. Thanks to Varun Chandra from Keir Starmer’s team for joining the CBI Trade Association Council for a frank and helpful chat this morning. There is a lot to resolve for the country in our economy, and these links matter. REC Press Office pleased to be at the table for Recruitment & Employment Confederation

Responding to the government’s 10-year infrastructure plan, REC’s Kate Shoesmith said. “Government contracts tied to job creation and skills development gives every major project the power to leave a lasting legacy for local communities. But the government must avoid loading

Responding to the launch of the Industrial Strategy, Neil Carberry said: “Workforce issues still need more attention, especially after skills were not at the heart of the recent Spending Review.” rec.uk.com/our-view/news/…

Absolutely agree Neil Carberry, one can’t tax one’s way to growth nor expect companies to grow when strangled by red tape! Perhaps a u-turn on the NI increase would be a start 🤔

A big morning for the Office for National Statistics (ONS) with it publishing a lot of economic data. On the labour market, the ONS view includes: "The slack in the labour market is also indicated by the increase in the number of unemployed people per vacancy. The ratio was 2.2 in February to April 2025, its
