Just read about Ian Rawes, so sad. His ideas on sound heritage were a huge inspiration to me. We invited him up to Newcastle 10yrs ago. He played 3 mins of an everyday street sound to 200 ppl. Then described in detail the precise sounds (engines, birds, accents) now extinct.
