The ISU Symphony Orchestra 2019-2020 launches on Friday Oct 11!

Niel Gow was the undisputed grand master of Scottish fiddling in the late 1700s. In addition to composing, he was something of an early music researcher, turning to ancient folk tunes for source material the same way Dvorak and Vaughan Williams would over a century later. 1/2

His most popular tunes were published during his lifetime, only to be resurrected 150 years later by William Alwyn in his "Suite of Scottish Folk Songs." Hear this work and others celebrating the rich heritage of Scotland on October 11 at 7:30pm. 2/2
