It's well known that Japanese school is a nightmare. Bullying is a deeply rooted evil in a society like Japan that privileges social status, wealth and physical appearance. Once you get to the workplace, things don’t change. Bullying and hyper-competition are even more pronounced

I honestly don't understand who says #DeepSeek is better than other AI. It's terribly slow and cumbersome. And of course the censorship is blatant and at times ridiculous. #DeepSeekR1

As I always say: the proverbial kindness of the Japanese is inversely proportional to the number of foreigners present in Japan. πŸ˜‚

A society that prioritizes Japanese over foreigners?? For those who don't know: in Japan foreigners have no benefits, no facilities, no special treatment. A foreign worker is treated worse than any Japanese and is always chosen after and only if no Japanese can do that job.

It's something I've always wondered. πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅ accepts immigrants sparingly, some nationalities have more difficulty than others in obtaining a visa, foreigners in Japan are ostracized and mistreated. Yet the Japanese are not considered racist. Whites are racist, Japanese are patriotic.

I'd really like to ask Mr. Tatsuma Murasame (πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ), born Jakob Sebastian BjΓΆrk: what language do Japanese people use to address him? When they see him, do they treat him as Japanese or as a foreigner? Has changing his name and "integrating" changed the way Japanese people see him?

Suricato (@isuricati) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I don't know why but I'm pretty sure Mr. Colonel Otaku would not be so happy and positive if Jakob Sebastian BjΓΆrk (a guy so integrated in Japan that he tooks a japanese name and dress in Edo-Jidai clothes) was black.

In Japan, Sanseito is gaining support. Incredibly, it's young people who vote for it. Anti-immigrant and populist parties are usually voted for by older people (who live in the provinces), but in Japan, young people in big cities are the main recipients of anti-foreigner rhetoric

The motivations are the same as those in Western countries who vote for far-right parties: immigrants bring degradation and crime, they take jobs away from locals, they accept lower wages and consequently ruin the labor market, they don't integrate, they have different skin color

The difference is that in the West, anyone who votes for a far-right party is accused of fascism, racism, and Islamophobia. In Japan, Westerners β€”the same Westerners who would already be protesting against fascism in their homeland β€” applaud the rise of the Japanese far right.

I was in Kamakura with some clients, and due to the tsunami warning, the city was evacuated. The tourist information office? Closed as well. For information please ask to the station, where obviously no one speaks English, and consequently all the tourists didn't know what to do.

I've just flew back to Japan on Sichuan Airlines. I was struck by the cabin crew's complete inability to speak English. The guy serving the food kept addressing me in Chinese and then asking my chinese seatmate what I'd like to eat. She kept telling him she didn't know me. 🀣

As always, every chinese thing is designed and engineered just for Chinese people. The websites (online check-in is impossible), the cabin crew (no English), the in-flight movies (only chinese or some not-yet-censored western shitty movie), the food.. 🀒

It's always nice when a 150-year-old Japanese man starts yelling at you in the middle of the street. Reason: I dunno! Not having almond-shaped eyes, I guess. 🀣

Yesterday in Shibuya I witnessed a thwarted robbery. Two Japanese men were detaining and searching a thief of Asian origin, probably Chinese. Japan is getting worse and I think the police are totally unprepared for this. They held him until the police arrived, which took an hour.
