And who is checking up on the children with unmet SEN 1, 5, 10 years after the high stakes GCSEs to see whether the (data-driven) attendance pressure was worth it in terms of QoL/wellbeing?

People say, sure society is now so accepting of autistic and other children who are different. Get. In. The. Bin. I’m so upset by this. The thought of erasing children from class photos makes me sick with rage. I’m still struggling so much in this f’ed up world. It hurts.

‘Neurofuturism is a radical imagining of the world in which the neurodiversity movement has succeeded. Neurofuturism allows us to picture the destination so as to make it easier to map the route there.’ Brilliant 💫

My book (Diary of a Young Naturalist) has gotten a lot of attention since its release in 2020 but my two children’s books truly reflect the autistic joy I feel & my unique perspective on the natural world. I just wanted to give them a little shout out for #AutismAcceptanceMonth

I love talking to the children in our school who flexi-school. They get up to all sorts of exciting things on the days that they learn outside of school; swimming, kayaking, meeting other home educating families, baking, horse-riding, ice-skating, walking, visiting museums 1/2

Darn. Too maxed out supporting previously excluded/othered autistic children in fuzzy/applied settings to manage a decent rebuttal of Dr L’s paper. Thank you @DrRJChapman Monique Botha is actually they/them 🤷🏻‍♀️ Noah Sasson and others 🙏

Local authorities have a legal duty to make sure children & young people with all types of special educational needs & disabilities get the education they need & are entitled to. If they can't do it, they should tell the Govt, not force families to fight. theguardian.com/society/articl…

Whoops! Despite best deficit paradigm efforts, the DEP genie is out of the bottle! Send help! Scour real-world services and root out signs of dawning sloppy pro-ND empathy! Urgently teach the purest of sociocognitive deficit theories! 🧞‍♂️🤭

Getting human-centered, neurodiversity affirming, progressive practices into education, healthcare, & elsewhere is a battle through bad narratives & bad framing. We need your help. We need you to help us bridge the Double Empathy Extreme Problem (DEEP). stimpunks.org/2024/07/29/10-…

‘The best place for children is in school.’ Why can’t there ever be a simple acknowledgement of the children who are broken by school, bullied horrendously and traumatised day after day? I was in constant fight/flight mode at school. It has taken years to begin to recover.

1/2 To enforce a 1 Size fits All policy, & not listen to lived experiences, is a dangerous direction for govt. You're literally saying, 'WE know best', 'YOU (population) don't know'. Like many parents to ND CYP I can 💯% say school harmed my YP & us. I saw & lived the harm daily

Bridget Phillipson That’s just not going to be possible for some who have been made so anxious and distressed by school that they can’t leave the house, or self harm, or even attempt suicide. What about them?

It doesn't really matter what I say on here, it's guaranteed that someone will be angry about it. Someone will be furious and say I am making things up, or grifting. Someone will suggest that I'm exploiting parents because I don't work for free. In a way, that's quite
