Couldn’t agree more. I find that this is overlooked far too often in an effort to ā€œprogressā€ and then people end up having to backtrack for months instead of making this a priority from day 1. Swelling shouldn’t be termed ā€œnormalā€ for any athlete past the early stage of an ACL R

Check out our recent meta-analysis on the effects of ACL injuries on hamstring/quadriceps rate of force development (RFD). Opens new considerations for our future directions and important thoughts about evaluating the athlete recovering from an ACL injury. Thanks Juha-Tapio Turpeinen

Launching this month at @CSICalgary ! So often the first question after injury is ā€œwhen can I get back to sport?ā€ and now there’s a way to get tested on where you’re at from strength/power standpoint post injury in Calgary. More info in Matt’s post below! #R2P #ACL #YYC

Evidence keeps failing to back up the electrolyte/dehydration theory of muscle cramps. But the new theories don't tell us how to avoid them. Here's some new data that (again) implicates muscle damage, and suggests strength training as a countermeasure. outsideonline.com/2416514/muscle…

So pumped for Nate Morris @CSICalgary . Great article just published showing that measuring hamstring capacity post ACL reconstruction with hamstring autograft is multifaceted and a vital part of #returntocompetition rdcu.be/cgCJL

I think it’s safe to say that I’m passionate about knee injuries and have had some amazing opportunities and support in practicing the type of rehab that I do. @csicalgary has allowed me to expand this into group classes for #ACLinjury in #YYC!! instagram.com/p/CWbEWgnpMK0/…

A success story that took an extreme amount of dedication and work after knee injury. Not a lot of people can defy the odds and I'm always concerned that stories like this will be used as a rational by others that they too can "come back in 5 months". Mikk did it- for real.

This might be the best post about osteoarthritis on the internet today. I wish everyone that has ever had a knee injury would read this.

This series of tweets is exactly what I tell the athletes I work with about cortisone injections. Not just detrimental for joints but also tendons and ligaments. I can’t wait until this is much more regulated/illegal. It’s like a giant bandaid that makes the wound worse later.
