I was very ill when I was in hospital for 11 days. My room was next to the nursing station. I heard code alarms and night nurses rushing to put back lung and heart lines patients tore out. One woman came in with a foot amputation at 3am. I learned I was comparatively well off.

HCW are overworked. It's appalling. I was lucky enough to get a bed when I needed one but it was hard to see one night nurse in particular come back 5 days after testing COVID + then -, to work with cough, sneezing, exhaustion. She should have been in bed.
